Hi, my name is Shantina R. Thomas. I am a wife and a mother of 2 children. My son is 18 years old and my daughter is 13 years old. I have lived in Columbus, GA all my life and I am currently living in Phenix City, Alabama. I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary education from Troy Alabama, in Phenix City, Alabama. I am currently seeking my master's degree in elementary education from Troy University. I am happy to say I am towards the end of the program. I have been teaching for several years now. I taught pre-kindergarten for four years. I have worked with special needs students for five years as a para, a special education teacher for one year, and now teaching 3rd-grade students.

     Some of my hobbies are reading, singing, traveling, dancing, and baking. I love to eat seafood. I love Ginger-Ale and I have to have at least 2 a day.

     This is my sixth year in teaching 3rd-grade and still learning because of the new curriculum and program being implemented to drive each child's education to prepare for the future workforce. My job as a teacher is to drive best practices and equip each child with the skills necessary to succeed in school. It has been a blessing to enjoy teaching because I feel I am giving back to help students who struggle in school just as I did.
